Part of the fun will be visiting all the exhibits. Learn about camping and training opportunities. Meet your Wood Badge and NYLT course directors, learn about the Order of the Arrow, 2024 Summer Camp and more. Scouts, parents and leaders will find plenty to see and learn.
Be sure you bring the whole unit for a group photo with this incredible giant deer! Units will be sent an 8 x10 copy and the photos will be used in the Council’s annual report. (The deer is so big, it is easy to see which looks better; the deer or the SE.)
This will be the biggest Celebration of Scouting all year. Every sponsor and participant will receive a copy of the program to keep. Parents, Charter Organizations, Units and Businesses may help recognize and celebrate a Scout, Scout Leader or Unit by placing an ad in the program. Congratulate an Eagle Scout, a new Cub Scout, a rank earned, a great leader or even Scouting in general. Ads will help pay for the many prizes, awards and recognitions distributed throughout the event.

Time to bring out the creative nature within your Scouts and parents! Each Unit will have an opportunity to decorate their table in a patriotic Scouting theme. Your table is your canvas; show us what you got! (Just remember to leave space to eat your meal) All participants will get a chance to vote by dropping a token on the table; but they can’t vote for their own centerpiece! Prizes and recognition for the winners.
Deerassic Park Visitor Center
When you arrive, you’ll have time to tour the new Deerassic Park Visitor Center. With beautiful dioramas of wildlife, hands-on learning experiences, even a slide, you and your Scouts will find adventure and fun!
Unit Flag Parade
As part of our opening ceremony, we will have a parade of flags which will then frame the stage for the duration of the evening. Each unit should bring their Unit and American flag (and their flag stands). Two unit members should be selected to carry the flags for the opening. This will be an awesome, photogenic moment—bring the cameras! (Units may reclaim their flags and stands at the conclusion of the event.)
Unit Leadership Recognition
We will be recognizing and thanking each unit’s leaders. Please be sure to invite your Charter Representative and/or members of your charter organization so they may also be recognized . Without Charter partners, most units would not exist for very long. The Key Three (Unit Leader, Committee Chair, Charter Representative) provide untold time, talent and treasure—help us thank them by ensuring they attend!
