The National Scout Jamboree, is an incredible gathering of thousands of Scouts from across the country and around the world, who come together to celebrate Scouting during more than a week of exciting activities.

Jamboree is more than a destination! It’s the adventure of lifetime! And there is simply nothing else like it on the planet!

What’s a Jamboree? It’s not camp. National Jamboree is 360-degrees of fun, friends and fellowship with hands-on adventure that takes you places you never thought you’d go and challenges you to try things you never thought you could.

It’s the beginning of your own heroes’ journey that will challenge you to go farther than you ever thought possible. You’ll reach deeper and lift yourself higher to become the best version of yourself.

Since the first Jamboree in Washington, D.C., in 1937, Jamboree has been held in several locations. Starting in 1981, Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia, was the home of eight consecutive Jamborees. Then, in 2013, Jamboree moved to a new home at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve, on over 10,000 acres adjacent to the New River Gorge National Park in West Virginia.

With world-class facilities and a focus on outdoor action sports, the Summit welcomes Scouts to a whole new Jamboree experience. Whitewater rafting and kayaking, rock climbing and bouldering, and mountain biking are just a few of the activities offered. There’s also skateboarding, BMX, shooting sports, and zip-line challenge courses. And that’s just the beginning.

The excitement of Jamboree isn’t limited to Scouts, either. The Summit features a large visitor area, where day-users can try out some of the activities that the Scouts are doing around other parts of the Summit. Parents that visit are astonished at the sheer size of just the visitor area, let alone where the Scouts can venture to.

The next National Jamboree will be held in the summer of 2026. The Muskingum Valley Council can’t wait for you to join us on this adventure!

How to Register

The registration process is completed online in two locations: the National Jamboree Website, and then the Muskingum Valley Council Jamboree Payment System (as of 3.12.25 the National Jambo website is not open).

  1. Please be sure to first create an account at my.scouting.org for your Scout and for yourself (each Scout must have a parent/guardian that also has a my.scouting account for Youth Protection and legal waiver purposes).
  2. The next step is to register online at jamboree.scouting.org. Be sure to log in using the my.scouting account for the registrant (e.g., your Scout).
  3. Once registered, an email will be sent to the registrant (and to the parent, if the registrant is under 18 years of age).
  4. In this email message will be a link to complete the required disclaimer/release/waiver statements. For registrants under 18 years of age, this email will be sent to the parent/guardian, and this person must click the link in the email and login with their my.scouting account (not the Scout’s account) to complete the entire form.
  5. Once the disclaimer/release/waiver statements have been completed, a notification will be sent to the council for approval.
  6. The council will then send an approval form to Scout’s unit leader.
  7. Once the council receives the form from the unit leader and then has approved the application, we will send via email the link to make payments through our Black Pug system; be sure to record your Black Pug login information, as this is where you will be making all of your payments. The council staff plans to review/approve Jamboree applications at least weekly.
